Google Plans to have their own Internet service!

When you think of the World Wide Web, what do you think of?
I think of Google, Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, web apps, the information superhighway.

well now you can do more than think of Google as a place for search, apps and crazy innovations. Google is creating their own Internet service!

It plans to build a fibre-optic network offering speeds of up to 1Gbps (gigabit per second) to up to 500,000 homes.

"We planning to build and test ultra high-speed broadband networks in a small number of trial locations across the United States," the search giant said in its blog.

"We plan to offer service at a competitive price to at least 50,000 and potentially up to 500,000 people. We'll deliver internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today,"

In November 2009, the search giant also announced that it was working on a project to develop a faster version of http - which Google call SPDY - to speed up the transfer of content over the web.

At the time, the firm said its lab tests had shown that web pages loaded "up to 55% faster" using the protocol.

Imagine sitting at your computer complaining about the fact a 5 gig game took more than 2 seconds to finish downloading, I would much rather that than what I have now. We are quickly being immersed into the WWW every part of our lives is slowly combining with the web in a way.

This internet service they plan to launch will be an experiment, but you can see that if they will start with an experiment similar to this, OBVIOUSLY they will Officially create an ISP for everyone slowly. branching out throughout the world. God I hope Google pops a building in Minnesota to use as their Minnesota ISP headquarters, I'd switch to them Immediately
